Foods Pets Should Avoid
Some foods that humans are able to consumer are not healthy for dogs and cats. These foods should be kept away from animals so that they don't get hurt.
Chocolate is one food that should not be fed to cats or dogs. Too much chocolate can cause your pet to actually die or become very sick. Some chocolate is ok for some pets, but there is no safe way to find out how much to give your pet. By the time you have found out how much chocolate is too much, your pet will be sick or deceased. Just don't give your pets chocolate.
Animal Medicines
Although medicines provided by your Phoenix veterinarian are for consumption by your pet, pets can overdose just as humans can. If your pet is able to get hold of their medication, they are likely to ingest it, and they will not know how much is too much. Your pet is not going to know that it is medicine and not regular food, and they could quickly consume an entire bottle of their pet medicine.
Human Medicines
Human medicines can be even worse for pets because they are not for pets. Overdoses could occur with smaller doses and are much more likely to be fatal to your pet.
For your pet's safety and your happiness, it's extremely important that you keep things like chocolate, animal medicine, and human medicine out of the reach of your pets. Even bottles that come with child proof lids may not deter your pet from chewing its way into the bottle.
Since you never know how much chocolate or medicine is too much, it's best to play it safe by keeping these things out of the reach of your pets. Contact our Phoenix veterinary clinic for more information about foods your pets should avoid.
