What to Feed Your Bearded Dragon Lizard
Choosing the right pet for your family can be difficult based on the needs and wants of everyone in the family. If you have just chosen a bearded dragon lizard for your family’s pet, there are a few things that you need to be aware of as far as feeding is concerned.
Bearded dragon lizards are a breed of lizard that is usually easy to care for. The one thing that you need to keep in mind when trying to choose the food for your lizard is that this breed of lizard is omnivorous. This means that your lizard will eat a little bit of everything if you offer it to them. You also need to remember that these types of lizards have a large appetite and need all of this energy to grow and develop into an adult lizard. If you buy this lizard just after it has hatched, you need to make sure that you feed it ample amounts of food. If you don’t feed them enough, they may start to eat their own tail and feet. They assume that anything that moves is considered prey.
Small bearded dragons like to eat small grasshoppers and meal worms. If this is what you choose to feed your lizard, make sure that you crush the food enough so it digests easily. Once the dragon gets a bit older, you can begin to include lots of vegetation as well as fruits. As the bearded dragon becomes older, they will eat basically anything you choose to feed them. This can be a great first time pet for children to have a learning experience.
